Following on from our recent post about the Summer Course faculty, we thought we’d share with you a little more about the London Vegetable Orchestra. Here’s a video from their own Youtube Channel, demonstrating some of the slightly unusual things they do!
“The London Vegetable Orchestra is the UK’s only ensemble offering audiences literally ‘Home Grown’ entertainment. As the group’s name suggests, the instruments are mad up of hand-crafted local produce, and they sound as incredible as they look!
..The group’s repertoire includes classics from all genres with a fresh twist, such as ‘In the Food’, Neil Diamond’s ‘Swede Carrotline’ and of course the Ben E. King hit ‘Stand by Pea’.
… Puns aside, the London Vegetable Orchestra… regularly perform[s] all over the country and Europe. They have developed an outreach team, expanding their work into schools and local community events offering making stalls and classes for both adults and children alike…”
