About us

Based at the magnificent property of Chateau Vermont, the Jersey Academy of Music is open to children and young people of all ages, from those wishing to start learning an instrument to those who already play but would benefit from tuition in other areas of music-making to take their study further.

Tuition at the academy is not only based on one-to-one instrumental teaching, but also incorporates the study of Theory, Aural Skills, Ensemble, Performance, and other key areas of musical study essential for the full enjoyment of music.

Those who receive instrumental or vocal tuition elsewhere on the island are also welcome to become part of the academy to broaden their studies in other areas of music-making. Links with other music academy institutions both in the UK and further afield provide a wealth of inspiration, with regular visits from some of the country’s leading teachers and young musicians.

The academy aims to give every child the opportunity to achieve their potential, all through our joint ethos of fun and excellence.
