Continuing to build up the Academy’s strong connections with Wells Cathedral School, who have enjoyed several residencies at the Chateau, early in March a handful of our advanced flautists enjoyed a great trip to participate in a series of masterclass sessions with Simon Channing, Head of Woodwind at the Royal College of Music, organized by Ed Leaker, Head of Woodwind at Wells.

It was an action packed 24 hours where we joined in with scale and study workshops, ensemble playing and a masterclass on repertoire they are currently studying. Our flautists were also given a guided tour of the school and an insight into student life there.
