Royal College of Music Junior Department and Friends

Professor Katya Lebedeva from the Royal College of Music Junior Department visited the academy with two outstanding young pianists.  During the morning she gave tuition to six local young pianists, and in the afternoon all the young pianists gave a wonderful concert to an enthusiastic audience.  As well as an excellent performance of two movements of Beethoven’s Sonata in C minor ‘Pathetique’ given by two local students, one particular highlight was visiting pianist Nina Del Ser’s performance of Haydn’s Sonata in C, full of wit and dramatic contrasts. The event was supported by the Jersey Arts Trust, and the next visit will take place in early December.
