Brighter Futures Event – “The Sound in the Evening” at Government House, Thursday 16th September 2021
Georgi Mottram and Liberty Spears, two of our vocal teachers, were joined by student soloists and our Senior String Ensemble to provide a wonderful evening of musical entertainment for selected guests, in the presence of His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor and Lady Dalton.
The Open Afternoon was a great success! It was so wonderful to see so many families making an afternoon of it, exploring all the instruments on offering, guided by our dedicated teaching faculty.
There were performances and open rehearsals from our Senior Strings, Saxophone and Flute Ensembles. Our guests were able to watch our Vocal Department Concert in the Chapel and attend open sessions with the Key Stage One and Pre-School Classes.

We were very fortunate to have Meurig Thomas for a weekend. Meurig is a music educator, examiner and pianist.
Our students were able to take part in a workshop discussing performance skills, sight-reading, aural and general musician.
A group of our students took part in a Masterclass, performing as soloists and receiving helpful feedback from Meurig.
Meurig has also spent with many students individually, to focus specific areas of their musicianship.
On Saturday, all of our teachers were fortunate to take part in a workshop led by Meurig, focusing on new ways of incorporating aural skills into our daily teaching.
