Musique et Aventure 2017
24th – 29th July 2017
The academy’s summer music course combines intensive musical study with fun outdoor activities. This year is our 11th year of running this popular programme, and our excellent faculty of teachers and performers will welcome all for an unforgettable week of music and adventure! This course is open island-wide, and available for strings, brass, piano, percussion, flute, clarinet, and saxophone students of all levels aged 9-17. We also welcome complete beginners, and those who already play but wish to spend a week experiencing a new instrument!
Each morning from 9am-1pm music tuition takes place, incorporating one-to-one lessons, chamber music coaching, and group workshops. All students will also be involved in Musicianship activities, incorporating elements of Theory and Aural training. All students also participate in instrumental groups, with daily rehearsals and coaching sessions. Several concerts will take place during the week, involving both the teaching faculty and the students. After the music is finished each morning, students can enjoy a picnic lunch on the lawn before the afternoon’s activities. These will include:
- Kayak Expedition – Exploring the North coast cliffs and caves by sea with Jersey Kayak Adventures.
- Durrell Concert – An afternoon visiting the animals, leading to an early evening concert in the beautiful grounds of Durrell.
- Aquasplash – An afternoon of swimming and fun!
